Why Balanced Animals recommends Photizo Red Light

The use of light therapy really became noticeable to us whilst walking the trade stands and talking to team physios at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in France.  Light therapy has been scientifically studied for many years and proven to be a very effective treatment, but historically the devices have been very expensive and cumbersome to use.

After a couple of years of  researching the market and keeping abreast of technology advancements, Balanced Animals chose the Photizo Vetcare unit as the best for our needs. We have been using them as an integral part of our physiotherapy toolkit ever since!

Some of our lucky physiotherapy customers have been allowed to borrow one of our Photizo units and we struggle to get them back as they find them easy to use and show great results!  This was a trigger to become the Australian distributor and start supplying them to customers

We like that Photizo Vetcare is built by a proper medical devices manufacturer that has ISO & CE certification (these are not some cheap LEDs and a battery like lower priced offerings found on ebay).  Photizo Vetcare is designed for animal applications and the light output of each dose is timed and tuned to the wavelengths, intensity, and pulse frequencies that are scientifically proven to have an therapeutic effect.

The Vetcare unit is very well made, robust and reliable, and has great battery life.

Balanced Animals use-cases

We have been using Photizo Vetcare since 2017 on both a professional and personal level! From swellings, muscle strains, muscle tears, major traumas, bruising, hematomas to general aches.

Used on horses, dogs, chickens and unofficially even ourselves!

Manufacturer Information

Chronic ‘injuries’ or overuse inflammatory reactions occur when the tissue does not complete the healing cycle. Photizo Vetcare breaks this cycle and gives the tissue the opportunity to start the healing process if possible, or in chronic conditions to maintain pain-free periods.

  • Treatment will stimulate optimum cell condition (bone, nerve, capsule, cartilage and muscle tissue) to maintain healthy tissue. This may help to prevent further degeneration of tissues like nerves, bone/joints and blood vessels.

  • Treatment on the acupuncture points has excellent treatment outcomes.

HOW DOES PHOTIZO VETCARE WORK?

Photizo Vetcare’s LED light therapy harnesses the healing power of red and infrared light at specific wavelengths and frequencies for accelerated healing by activating the pain and relaxing ‘medication’ of the animal’s own body.

LEDs, or light emitting diodes, are non-invasive, painless, produce a gentle and soothing warmth and do not require recovery time.

Photizo Vetcare allows increased blood flow into the area being treated to ensure that any waste is quickly removed from the area.

USING PHOTIZO VETCARE

Simply place the Photizo Vetcare’s head (containing the LEDs) on the area of the animal to be treated, press the ON button and wait until the timed treatment ends, then move it to the next area requiring treatment. Repeat until you have finished treating all the desired areas.

About Red-Light

Although light (Photon) therapy has been documented in medical literature as early as 1500BC, it was the Danish physician Nils Finsen, who is believed to be the father of phototherapy that received a Nobel Prize for his work in 1903. Since then, numerous authors have advocated treatment by phototherapy for many different diseases ranging from acne, vitilago, jaundice in babies, wound healing and rheumatoid arthritis to name only a few.

Throughout the ages, sunlight (as the earliest form of phototherapy) has been known to have both healing and wellness properties. Light is energy, and energy sustains life – it cannot be destroyed, but it can be transformed into other forms.

Photizo Light Therapy harnesses the healing power of red and infrared light at specific wavelengths & frequencies proven to be effective in accelerating natural healing of the body, reducing swelling and inflammation, stimulating the immune system and relieving pain. Cells that are injured can actually be rejuvenated by light.

Light therapy has broad treatment applications. Using these devices, wounds and other injuries can heal faster and chronic conditions can be managed without the over use of pain and anti-inflammatory medications within a few treatments.

People with back problems, nerve damage, muscular diseases, tennis elbow, burns and other ailments have all shown marked signs of improvement using infrared light therapy.

The technology can also offset the long-term costs of surgery, pain medicines and physical therapy visits. We will be seeing infrared light used for all kinds of healing and pain control in the future. There will always be a place for medication and other modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation, but now doctors will also start using light for treatment.

The FDA has approved light therapy for the treatment of head and neck pain, as well as pain associated with CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). In addition to these conditions, the literature indicates that light therapy may be beneficial in three general areas:

1. Inflammatory conditions (e.g., bursitis, tendonitis, arthritis, etc).

2. Wound care and tissue repair (e.g., diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, bedsores, mouth ulcer, fractures, tendon ruptures, ligament tears, torn cartilage, etc).

3. Pain control (e.g., low back pain, neck pain, and pain associated with inflammatory conditions—carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, post-herpetic neuralgia, etc).
